Meet the artist

My name is Sabrina and I started Yarn Bean Fiberworks in 2020. What was initially a creative outlet and a way to share my projects quickly turned into a self-sustaining business - and what an adventure it has been!

I first learned to knit when I was a young girl in the early 2000’s during a stay on a working vacation farm in Charlestown, Rhode Island. That trip was the start of a long love affair between me, knitting, and the Ocean State. After a long hiatus from fiber arts, I picked up knitting again in 2017 after the passing of my mom to help me cope with my feelings of depression and anxiety. I learned to crochet in early 2020 when I was determined to make my friend a baby blanket for her firstborn. I have been knitting or crocheting almost non-stop since then. My favorite things to make are socks (knit), shawls (knit), and blankets (crochet).

I started designing my own crochet and knitting patterns in early 2021, and love coming up with funky new ideas for personal accessories and home décor. I love coming up with new ideas to share with knitters and crocheters of all levels! Nothing warms my heart like seeing your take on one of my designs.

I was born and raised in Indianapolis, IN and currently reside in the area with my husband, Justin, our two dogs (Tyrion and Pickles) and our orange tabby, Cooper. When I’m not working or crafting, I love to read books, watch TV, go to the gym, and attend concerts (metal is my favorite)! I love chatting about all things yarn, knitting, crochet, cats, and pizza, so don’t be afraid to slide into the DMs. :)
